This is the second installment on our cruise in the country a few weeks ago. Ten first generation Firebirds came out to meander along beautiful uncluttered roads in scenic McHenry County, Illinois, stopping at various points of interest. After gathering the group in Huntley, we drove to Getz Hot Rod Innovations in Hampshire to see the fantastic painting they do on cars as well as their cool collection of vintage automobile memorabilia. Next, we had a brief pit-stop at the Wild West Town in Union, taking note of it for the future. Our last stop of the tour was McHenry County’s most beautiful farm, owned by Roger and Kathy Porep in Woodstock. They have assembled the most unusual collection of vintage vehicles, farm tractors and even an airplane! We also enjoyed seeing all the old fashioned automobile advertising and classic motorcycles. They have hosted several car clubs throughout the years, and really enjoy having people over. After our vist most of us wrapped up the trip with a lunch together in Marengo. Here’s some of the pictures of our cruise, we hope you enjoy them.

The detailed painting on this scooter left no doubt about the high quality paint work that’s done here.

After Wild West Town, we drove our Firebirds out to this Woodstock farm to see some awesome antique cars and tractors. What a great photo op with the ten ‘birds!
