We first met Karen and her husband, Dave at the Indian Uprising last August.  They had just bought this car for Karen only two weeks prior, and she was very excited to show it off.  She joined our club that day and was our first female member!

I just received this email from her telling about all the things they have been doing to improve their Firebird over the winter, and I thought it would make a great post on our website….

Hi Ken,

Just wanted to share some of the work we did to my 67 this winter.

We pulled the 10 bolt rear end out, pulled the subframe and front clip. Some how I got the task of wirewheeling the whole underside of the car to up the firewall, and my husband painted it. The end result is well worth the time invested. We powdercoated the subframe, coresupport and inner fender wells, and installed all new bushings, ti rods, ball joints, springs an front disk brake system. Put in new brake lines and fuel line. The electrical work was in dire need of replacement , so all wire harnesses were replaced.

The rear end was replaced with a 12 bolt with a 3.73 posi, and Caltracs suspension. Put in 3 inch dual exhaust and a Pontiac 434 motor, and had the turbo 350 trans rebuilt.

As far as body work goes we replaced the hood with a factory 400.  Got rid of the quicksilver shifter and replaced it with a stock shifter, and putting in a wood grain steering wheel.
I also repainted my Rally 2s, we went with the Edgewood charcoal and argent silver.

Thank you and very much looking forward to cruising this summer!

Sounds great Karen, we can’t wait to see your Firebird in person to see the finished results of all your hard work.
